BETTER CBD PRODUCTS FOR BETTER WELL-BEING

Developing and manufacturing natural CBD products leaves no room for approximation. This is why we rely on a structured and proven scientific approach at every stage of the process — from carefully selecting the hemp seeds all the way up to a thorough quality control systems incorporated into making our final product.

CBD is not just a lifestyle item, at least in our understanding. Produced with great care, we present to you our line of CBD products to help you feel better! Balance the daily stresses to your mind and body and enhance your overall well-being with our line of CBD topicals, supplements, and edibles.

IT ALL STARTS WITH THE BEST PLANTS

The cannabis plant was domesticated over 4,000 years ago, probably in the China region. Like any domesticated crop, it has been selectively bred over the years to enhance specific qualities. This has resulted in three main strains of cannabis.

One type has been cultivated for centuries because it yields some of the sturdiest natural fibers ideal for making rope. This is called industrial hemp, which contains some CBD, as a by-product.

Another type has dozens of names, having long been used as a counter-culture recreational drug. These names include marijuana, pot, weed, skunk, and reefer. This type of cannabis is rich in THC, the intoxicating substance that causes a high, and is not legal in many parts of the US.
And then, there are cannabis strains which have been selected for their CBD and terpene-rich but THC-poor profile. Like the industrial hemp used to make rope, this type is also commonly called hemp, mostly to avoid any confusion with the recreational drug commonly referred to as marijuana.

It is important to note that CBD-rich hemp has little in common with industrial hemp. It is more accurately called agricultural hemp. It is this CBD and terpene-rich type of cannabis that we use as the key ingredient in The Essence of Well Being Products.

PLUS, WE SELECT THE BEST FARMERS

Our cannabis is grown in the open fields of Colorado and cultivated to high food-crop standards. The low-growing, bushy, and lush cannabis plants get the bright sun and rich soil nutrients they need to be abundant in CBD and complementary compounds of the highest quality.

Colorado has been on the leading edge of the booming cannabis industry. All of the Colorado farmers we have partnered with follow high growing standards. We routinely visit with our farmers to foster relationships dedicated to optimal quality.

What is a mother plant? The best CBD starts with mother plants grown from premium seeds that are carefully cultivated in greenhouses. Cuttings are then taken from these plants and placed about 6 feet apart in fertile soil. As they develop, agricultural hemp plants look like a leafy vegetable.

Conversely, industrial hemp is grown in densely packed rows, and commonly reaches a height of 10-15 feet, and looks like a bamboo forest.
Our agricultural hemp is classified as a food crop. Accordingly, it is closely regulated by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. We use only this type of American-grown agricultural hemp, avoiding (much cheaper) industrial hemp from Europe or China, that it is primarily grown for its fibers. With the latter type of hemp, CBD is just a by-product.

We carefully select American-grown agricultural hemp because we believe our customers deserve the very best natural ingredients for optimal results
Our CBD production story becomes even more important as we expertly extract, distill, and purify the carefully grown, premium agricultural hemp to meet the highest quality and potency standards.

THE BEST EXTRACTION METHODS

Our expert extractor starts with a thorough assessment of a CBD product’s quality. Then, the raw hemp is stored under optimal temperature and humidity conditions to prevent mold and mildew.

Our extracting partner is a global leader in hemp processing. Their state-of-the-art facility is ISO 9001:2015 certified, Class 1 Division 1 rated, and complies with Good Manufacturing Practices. The founder is an engineer with a PhD in biochemistry from one of the most famous universities in the US, and the company has over two decades of experience in molecular isolation.

Their facility was the very first to obtain a license from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) as a producer of food-grade CBD.

Extraction is more than squeezing the juice out of a plant. It requires a deep knowledge of organic chemistry. Our partner’s equipment for extraction and purification operates under gentle conditions and at near-ambient temperature. The process maintains the bioactivity of the natural compounds and molecules of agricultural hemp while removing plant waxes, chlorophyll, and THC. This is why our CBD, unlike many others, does NOT taste like grass. In fact, the “grass test” provides a good quality assessment, as this flavor originates from the waxes and chlorophyll residues of improperly purified CBD. It is a taste which bovines, sheep and rabbits like, but most humans certainly do not prefer!

This careful extraction process described above also offers the unique ability to preserve very desirable trace cannabinoids, such as cannabigerol (CBG), cannabichromene (CBC), and cannabinol (CBN), together with many beneficial terpenes. These compounds are the key to an optimal ‘entourage’ effect.

By the way: our extraction partner does not use supercritical CO2 extraction. This process is currently very popular, but it operates, among others, at enormous pressure (over 600 psi; as a comparison, the pressure in your car’s tires is around 35 psi…). It is not entirely clear how this high pressure can affect the extract. But the method can hardly be termed gentle.

In addition, the equipment manufacturers who market the process use claims like “Less Hours of Labor & Higher Profitability”. This has made us suspicious. We choose not to compromise quality for higher profitability in our CBD products!

And finally, once we have the best CBD extractions, we combine it with quality natural ingredients to create a superior line of CBD topicals, supplements, and edible products that is the Essence of Well Being ®.
